A Weeks Musings
Very late musings racers, because as I have hinted at before the body is starting to protest lately….
Last weekend was the start of a very good but exhausting period….now it’s not many times I get to “fatboy” Mr. Starling…. I am guilty of getting too excited…let me explain….
Fatboy official weighing station is the commodores good ladies pharmacy (they have an old fashioned weighing machine), and there had been a setback – I had gained 2 kilo’s. Feeling very sad I went to the sailing club, the Irish person fitting a radial muttering “4.7!! 4.7!!” It was becoming windier – perhaps the 2 extra kilos were a sign from the “Force” I am after all a Jedi knight. Mr Starling a full sail. Radial, said the force….I obeyed and felt it!!
Now Mr Starling will be leaving us soon for pastures new and I will miss him, I am sure we all wish him well; however I didn’t want him to go without showing him how those extra 2 kilos can make all the difference!!
The week didn’t end there it continued to get better, I finally solved the “blue light” problem (It’s a brownie points thing). Thursday brought the delights of scrubbing the “Irishman’s” bottom, a task the commodore and I both agreed it was a dirty job and we together with Brian duly scrubbed…
Still there is always a “fall from grace” in these things and it arrived Saturday
Friday had brought a sudden devaluation in brownie points, but still feeling confident I took on Mr Starling head to head racing – washout! He gave me a lesson in sailing; it was the 2 extra kilos’ that were responsible – definitely. We decided to join the juniors the final bump in the “fall”. Trying to mix it with the juniors on the start line was a huge mistake a several uncontrolled situations occurred…. However I was in front of Mr Starling and feeling pretty pleased with myself…Nicholas – again put the final nail in the coffin “why do you always fall in?”… Time to go……
