Musings - The Return

Musings on a Mainsheet - The Return!

Now this is a Friday and not necessarily a musing day… However it is a very important day. It has been spent in the company of my esteemed skipper “Black John” and we have been preparing “Ora Kali” for the return….

We think all is ready - loose ends all tidied, repairs carried out all that remains is to issue the challenge throughout the ether and then offer a sacrifice to the goddess of wind…as we might have to follow the following parameters:-

1. Force 4 and above, As we all know the Goddess is good and all is well victory will be ours and proceed as planned as it has been ordained!!
2. Force 3 and below, Rig the lasers, a new centreboard and a new sail will save the chosen. (Black John has a new boat. He can take his own chances!)
3. Drifter – we purchase several cold cans of the “Irish salve” and 2 deck chairs and watch the proceedings….

So when tomorrow comes…all will be well. The Irishman is witnessing a wedding in Mykonos. I have sent him the relevant instructions. He is however absent, and as such will miss the magnificent “Ora Kali” with oversize sails and fat crew sweeping all before her. By the way, Andreas and Antonis “It’s all over” – unless you know differently……
