Summer Series Races 1 - 7

So Saturday, there was somewhere else I wanted to be (watching the rugby – British Lions versus Australia). I had promised to sail and the wind was rising steadily but could I fit it all in…..
Moving on from the rugby there was more importantly even more wind, there was only one thing to do rig the laser and get out there. Now the field had narrowed a little but there was quality and more importantly The Acting Commodore was sailing his laser (with foolishly a full sail – Oh Goody!!) Pavlina sensibly with her radial sail, Paul Squires and “Black John”. Wind still rising (the Goddess of wind was smiling and beckoning me on!)
Now at this point I have to calm down because the retelling of this tale is as sweet as the act. Further descriptions of the racing would seem in bad taste as the wind was now rated as “Full fatboy”. I shall just leave you dear reader to consider the unbridled joy of watching the 3 boats in front of you all wipe out as you sail serenely past, having had to move ones bulk a little further out to compensate. Also imagine if you will the dilemma of hearing the “Irish one” capsize again behind you and to keep the joyous giggling at a low level in an attempt to keep the sporting element of the race (Tee Hee). Now there were 5 boats out racing how jealous are you!!!!

By the way the BRITISH and Irish Lions won…..
