Musings on a Mainsheet - 3/1
Well the labours of Friday stood the “plenty Kilo” effect of the crew and “Ora Kali” made her return….However there are more competitors on the race area these days, Photis and his son Kostandinos are racing a Hobie 16 and getting into the top places. Back to the main theme of the discourse, the joy of getting the big cat back in the water, the smile on the face of Black John was a sight to behold. He did however forget the “big sail” in the normal rush before the race, but the “crisp packet” performed as it always does.
I have to report that Andreas and Demetra did however get in front and stay there but their days in the sun are numbered. Antonis, forced to watch the fun from the beach “No crew syndrome” did his best to remain sanguine about his fate and did “Jobs” and in a good force 4, such control!
As for the laser department, Vassilis got his nose in front and stayed there, while Paul and Eric enjoyed an exciting encounter with the Yellow Submarine. Paul goes home this week having enjoyed the larger sailing area and the “real water”, the “pond” awaits Paul, and the hosepipe ban and the bad weather – Shame! Sergey and Tony also in the mix completing a busy day on the water with 8 boats and the coach Michaelis filling in as OOD is there anything else better on a Saturday afternoon? Perhaps a wedding in Mykonos…..
